Directions

From the car park, follow the blue arrows west towards Kilcrohane, turning right after 150m for Ahakista Church, & immediately left (sign for Seefin). This loop follows minor roadways, laneways and mountain paths to the Windy Gap and on to the top of Seefin Mountain, following Ahakista Stream for part of the way. The ascent contains some fairly steep climbs and the descent is steep, but has wonderful mountain, coastal and sea views. When you reach the top of Seefin summit at WM 41, turn sharply left & descend through a farmyard and across country down to the old road passing a cillín and a fort. Turn left onto the old road, which eventually will become a tarred road, passing by the Átha Thomáis memorial en-route to the main public road. Turn left back to Ahakista Bridge and Trailhead.

News & Updates

The Sheep’s Head Way is closed to the public on Sunday 31st January 2021

As usual each year, the Sheep’s Head Way is closed on 31 January, unless the expressed wishes of the Landowner states otherwise. This has become a customary practice which enables the landowner to grant permission for the public to access their land throughout the remaining year without risk of any public right of way being established. We hope you will respect this necessary inconvenience.

Mount Corrin loop

Due to storm damage, the forestry section of the Mount Corrin loop walk will remain closed until further notice.
